Psych Skills for Fit Pros, Volume 2 addresses these questions, and so much more…

Hi, I’m Lisa Lewis, Ed.D., Licensed Psychologist, Certified Addictions Counselor

Since 2003, I’ve been providing psychotherapy, or counseling, to clients from all walks of life with a broad range of issues and goals. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and worked as a mental health counselor and substance abuse counselor for years before earning a doctorate in counseling and sports psychology. This degree helped me develop counseling expertise, and my dissertation research focused on exercise motivation. Aside from psychology and counseling, my other love is sports, exercise, and fitness. I grew up playing sports; I have been an indoor cycling instructor since 2007 and an aspiring meathead since age 6.

Thanks to these two passions, I’ve worked with many athletes, executives, high-achievers, and, most notably, fitness professionals who strive to get the best out of their clients. Over the years of seeing fitness professionals for consultation, providing in-services to gym staff, and speaking at workshops and conferences for trainers, physical therapists, strength coaches, nutrition coaches, and chiropractors, I have noticed a lack of education, support, and training for psychological and communication skills. I developed this course based on interactions with people like you. I designed this curriculum to provide clear, easy-to-apply techniques to the great work that you are already doing! Whether you help people recover from injury, get strong, lose weight, or ease pain, you can apply the skills and techniques in Psych Skills for Fit Pros to augment your efficacy.

FAQ

Why would I take a course that focuses on me, instead of my clients?

Understanding yourself, your strengths and sticking points, and knowing your own mind helps you to do your best work as a coach. When you know and understand yourself, you know: when to push yourself, when to set limits, and how to boundary your professional and personal life in order to sustain a long, healthy, happy career

Can I take Volume 2 if I haven’t taken Volume 1?

Absolutely! Volume 1 focuses on your clients’ psychology. It is a foundational course, so the information complements volume 2, but it does not depend on it. If you already took volume 1, awesome! Let’s focus on you now… If you’d like to take both courses, you can bundle them and complete each at your own pace. CLICK HERE to learn more about the Volume 1 & 2 Bundle.
